yes I live in UK. I've even been in Portsmouth a few times. Once I went shopping in big outlet -:) But now I live in Midlands.
I was in the psychiatric hospital in uk only 3 weeks because didnt suite me.

Did you get sick in the UK or Poland? Have you ever been hospitalized in Poland? If so, are there any differences in care here and there?

I did get sick in UK 2 years ego exactly. I have been hospitalized in UK. Is different here they like people to be treated outside the psychiatric hostpitals they keep you as short as possible inside. All my treatment started at home with close contact with psychiatrist, social worker and psychologist. I'm on the phone with them if I need something but with social worker more often once per 2 weeks.

I'm stay at home mum I'm 33 years old. I have 'DLA' but you can work and apply for it you are entitled to it because you have schizophrenia. People from 'EIT' help you with it with housing as well and with any different problems.
Gp directyou to the right team because are different.

sorted out the gp and they will help you with everything. How long do you plan to stay in Poland? do you feel ok on meds? and what kindof meds you taking?

I'll stay in Poland till next month. I'm doing my driving license now, so hopefully after I pass next month's test, I'll go back to the UK. I really miss UK I take Zolafren 5mg (Olanzapinum). I feel fantastic on my meds, normal (just like before I got sick) My dose is small so it doesn't slow me down or anything.. How is with your meds? Are you Ok on them? Are they expensive in the UK? My medicine is reimbursed here in Poland, but I don't know how it is in the UK.

thats greate ifyou feel well on meds. Just let your gp know because if you have any probslater on will be easier for you.

MamuskaJo, just couple more questions: Do schizophrenics qualify for both care and mobility components in DLA? Do you have both or just one? So I can work and still get it?

yes you can work and get it and probably free bus pass. But first go to your gp later send me an email and I tell you everything. I dont know why but they never inform people about applying for DLA.

first of all go to gp later call to DLA about aplication form https://www.gov.uk/disability-benefits-helpline your team (nurse, social worker or somebody inside) help fill the form. They will ask you some question about your disability by the phone but tell them that you have schizophrenia and they shouldnt make any problems and send you form.Is better to give the form to your team because they know how to fill it profesionally and you will have check so often.

Later you have to go to your council and ask about bus pass you need one picture.
